Apple TV
Apple TV allows you to enjoy your favorite music and videos from iTunes on your TV. One advantage of the product include being one of the first media receivers to support the 802.11n wireless standard. This provides the Apple TV product with a faster connection to all your media.
Another advantage is plain and simply iTunes. While most users usually share either a love or hate relationship with iTunes, no one can argue with the wealth of prime-time television shows and music available on iTunes. Missed last night's episode? Download it from iTunes and stream it to your big screen TV with Apple TV to watch the next day.
Unlike some other media receivers, Apple TV includes a hard drive, which allows the device to save media to the device rather than streaming (and buffering) from the computer. This should provide a much smoother viewing experience. However, if you just downloaded that latest episode and can't wait for iTunes to sync with Apple TV, you can stream it in real time.
A couple downfalls of the Apple TV include its lack of support for 1080p and DivX, XviD or WMV. It does however support 1080i, 720p, 576p, or 480p.
Apple TV is expected to debut at a price of $299.
