Microsoft Xbox 360
On top of being just a game console, it can also act as a DVD player and media link for your home computers. How's that for convergence of electronics? If you already have a computer equipped with Windows Media Center Edition (MCE) on your home network, you can use a Xbox 360 as a media extender to watch content from your computer on the large screen.
The Xbox 360 retails for about $300 for the core system and $400 for the platinum.
Using the Xbox Live Marketplace service, you can even download from a limited selection of movies, television shows, and trailers.
